HSP Control Panel Features Overview

This gives a brief description of the different options available in your HSP 3 Control Panel. Note that not all of the features may be available to you. Feature availability is dependent upon which account type you have and what applications you have installed.

Account Contacts
icon
This icon displays your current account contacts. You may edit your contact information using this icon. Edits to this information will not effect of your login credentials.

Account Settings
icon
This icon displays your current account profile. You may edit your address information using this icon. Edits to this information will not effect of your login credentials.

Add Applications
icon
Add or remove available applications using this icon. A list of available applications is displayed. Click the checkbox next to the applications you wish to install and click "next". Generally applications are installed or removed within 5-10 minutes.

AWstats log analyzer
icon Advanced Web Statistics is a powerful and feature packed tool that generates advanced web server graphic statistics. This web server log analyzer works from command line or as a CGI and shows you all information your log contains, in graphical web pages.

Backup and Restore

This section of a control panel helps you protect data from accidental loss. If the original data on your server is accidentally erased or overwritten, or becomes inaccessible, you can easily restore the data from the archived copy. Client and Server-side backups are available.

Balance

This screen provides you with a summary of your account balance.

Billing History

Billing History includes all financial documents that affect the current state of your Customer Account balance (namely, Invoices, Payments, and Adjustments).

Buy Resources
icon
This icon allows you to purchase additional disk space, monthly transfer, or IP addresses. You may add additional resources up to the value listed in the "Maximum Value" fields.

Change Hosting Plan
icon Upgrade to a different hosting plan or change your current hosting plan's billing cycle using this icon.

Credit Cards
icon This screen allows you to view all credit cards saved in the system for your Account. You could also edit credit card properties, add new credit cards, or remove no longer needed records.

Crontab
icon The Cron is a handy utility helping system administrator to automate repetitive tasks. Cron is controlled by set of files called crontabs. By using Crontab, you can schedule any script or program to run at a time that is most convenient for you.

Databases
icon Add, configure and remove MySQL databases using this icon. This screen allows you to add database users and view the tables of MySQL databases.

icon This icon provides access to the HSP user guides in PDF format.

Domains
icon Displays the currently configured domains and hostnames. To register new domain or transfer an existing domain, click the "Add Domain" button. One domain is always marked as "default". Default domain is the name the System virtual server is currently referred to within HSPcomplete.

File Manager
icon The File manager allows you to navigate and manipulate your server file system. You can copy, rename and delete files and directories, upload files to the server, change permissions, etc - all from your browser.

FTP Accounts
icon This screen shows you the list of users that have the FTP access to your System. You may add, remove, and manage access for these users here.

FTP Server
icon Here you can view basic settings of the FTP server. HSPcomplete provides the Professional FTP daemon (ProFTPD) is a highly configurable, GPL-licensed FTP server software. The server can be restarted and configured from this screen.

Groups
icon This screen shows you the list of Groups, defined in your System. The list corresponds explicitly to the content of /bin/groups file in the VE. You can drill down to the Group properties by clicking on the ID or Group link. To create a new Group, please press the "New Group" button.

Log Files
icon Here you can navigate and manipulate your log file system. You can copy, rename and delete log files and directories, upload log files to the server, change permissions, etc - all from your browser. All the operations are similar to the conventional File Manager. To view a log, click on its name.

Mail Boxes
icon The list shows the most general information about each mailbox created in the current site (or in multiple domains) including usage statistics and allows managing mailboxes: reading mail, configuring a mailbox, clearing, deleting, and suspending a mailbox.

Mail Forwarding
icon If you want to redirect the incoming mail for particular user to somewhere else, you need to set up forwarding. Here you can also set the "Catch-All" e-mail. The "Catch-All" e-mail address allows you to receive e-mail if someone misspells the address.

Mailing Lists
icon Mailing list is a list of e-mail addresses identified by a single name, such as mail-list@yourdomain.com. When an e-mail message is sent to the mailing list name, it is automatically forwarded to all the addresses in the list. You can add and edit mailing lists with this icon.

MX Records
icon This screen allows you to view the mail exchanger settings (MX records) for your Domain. MX records specify where mail for a domain name should be delivered. There may be multiple MX records for a particular name. The priority value specifies the order a mailer should try multiple MX records when delivering mail. Zero is the highest preference.

Open WebMail
icon Open WebMail is a webmail system designed to manage very large mail folder files in a memory efficient way. It also provides a range of features to help users migrate smoothly from Microsoft Outlook to Open WebMail. This icon allows you to suspend or unsuspend Open WebMail on your account, as well as login to the Open WebMail interface.

Personal Profile
icon This screen displays your current personal settings (e-mail address used as your HSPcomplete personal login and your Time Zone). Note that personal settings also include your User name and password.

PHPMyAdmin
icon phpMyAdmin is a tool written in PHP intended to handle the administration of MySQL over the WWW. Currently it can create and drop databases, create/drop/alter tables, delete/edit/add fields, execute any SQL statement, manage keys on fields. This icon under the "Site" tab allows you suspend or unsuspend the tool, as well as login.

Server Info
icon This icon opens the Server Info dashboard. The right part includes statistics and links to view Hosting Plan details and track resource usage. The left part of Server Info dashboard includes the links for changing the System status and tracking resource usage.

Services
icon This screen shows you the list of Services installed in the selected System that you can manage via the web interface.

Statements
icon Statements reflect the state of an Account balance and include the list of financial documents issued by the end of the Billing Cycle. Statements are generated at the end of the Billing Cycle.

Subscriptions
icon This screen shows you the list of subscriptions associated with your Customer Account. In addition, here you can purchase another Hosting Plan.

Users
icon This screen shows you the list of Users, defined in your System. The list corresponds explicitly to the content of /bin/passwd file in the VE. You can drill down to the User properties by clicking on the ID or Login hyperlink. Use this to change user's password as well.

Web Server
icon This icon displays your Apache web server dashboard. Apache is a public-domain open source web server. The server can be restarted from this screen.

Website Settings
icon Central location for configuring your site, including admin user, server aliases, custom error pages, MIME types, customer settings, and SSL.

Website Statistics
icon Displays the Webalizer stats for the selected Site. Includes access to the log files.
